With results trickling in, the U.S. presidential race appears to be swinging in Donald Trump’s favor. As the electoral map begins to resemble his victorious 2016 run, Trump has made modest yet steady advances across the country.

In early battleground state wins, Trump claimed North Carolina and Georgia, where his support surged in rural areas. Vice President Kamala Harris has matched Biden’s 2020 performance in urban and suburban regions, yet hasn't narrowed the gap.

Trump has now set his sights on the Democratic “Blue Wall” states in the Great Lakes region, where he holds slim leads. Meanwhile, Harris’s campaign remains optimistic about these states, although any potential advantage will likely depend on the delayed reporting of urban votes.

At Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s watch party has a celebratory tone, while a tense atmosphere grips Howard University, where Harris supporters gather.

Early exit polls reveal expected gender divides, with women backing Harris and men favoring Trump. Notably, Harris's support among women is slightly lower than Biden's in 2020, a potential concern for her campaign. Voter turnout also nears historic highs, signaling the nation’s attentiveness to the stakes in this election.

If current trends persist, Trump may be on his way to becoming president-elect once more.
