Dunkin' customers across the U.S., particularly in Nebraska and New Mexico, are encountering a strange shortage of doughnuts. The popular chain, which dropped "Donuts" from its name in 2018, is unable to provide its signature treats, and no clear explanation has been given. In Omaha, Lincoln, and Grand Island, signs were posted explaining the shortage was due to a "manufacturing error." When asked for more details, staff cited company orders, confirming the issue extends beyond these areas.

This isn't the first time Dunkin' has faced a doughnut shortage. A similar incident occurred in 2021, but this current shortage seems more widespread, with other states also reporting empty doughnut displays.
Social media users are reacting in disbelief, with some speculating about conspiracy theories, while others express surprise that Dunkin' no longer makes doughnuts at their stores.
Dunkin', which operates over 13,200 locations worldwide, has long been a leader in the coffee and doughnut market. The company was acquired by Inspire Brands in 2020 for $11.3 billion.
